About this reprint of Dr. Craig Atwoods 2004 Moses Lecture

From the moment this web site was launched by volunteer laity in the summer of 2002 it has been our desire to share information and provide a forum that was open to everyone. The Hinge  has offered a forum for sharing contemporary thought and ideas primarily through its free distribution to clergy and other church office holders.

 The editor of The Hinge wishes to note:

the Hinge is voluntary and non-profit. It is not an official publication of the Moravian Church but it does have a fiduciary relationship with the Center for Moravian Studies. There is another journal called ITD: International Theological Dialog that also engages in Moravian theological discussion on an international level.

 

Copies of the Hinge are sent to every pastor and should be readily available to members of local congregations. Past issues are also available through interlibrary loan from local libraries, and they are also housed in both Moravian archives.

Requests for back issues of the Hinge from 2002 to the present should be sent to Jane Burcaw at the Center for Moravian Studies, jburcaw@moravian.edu. The cost is $4.00 for a single issue, but there is a discount for orders of more than ten. Since the Hinge does not maintain a large inventory, back issues may be photocopies.

 

 Subscriptions may be purchased for $30.00 by contacting the editor: Craig Atwood at Email: zinzendorf2002@yahoo.com  The total quarterly distribution  is less than 300 copies. It has been our desire to  post  articles appearing in The Hinge that have only been reaching a few (mostly clergy) to the readership of this forum.

We have been attempting to overcome some of the concerns of the editor about posting articles in this forum that might meet with the objections of the authors.

 We will share complete unaltered articles from The Hinge when both the editor and the authors grant permission. These articles will be identified as original.   In cases where permission is not granted for feature articles that should be shared we will attempt to review them here identified as reviews. Note that published responses will not be reviewed and only included on this forum if permission is granted from the individuals who responded in the original issue.

The purely non-profit and informational nature of www.Moravians.org  would allow us to use copyrighted material under the Fair Use Section of the Copyright Laws. Due to the sensitivity that has been communicated to this web team over copyright infringement we will  seek permission to use the original article for publication on this web site.
