This article appeared in the Winston Salem Journal May 16, 2002 by PEC President Bob Sawyer.  He affirms the Ground of the Unity but stresses the document's meaning is constantly changing to be more relevant  in today's world . Our recent synod chose not to adopt a resolution focused on this statement ("there is no salvation apart from Christ") , not because Moravians deny it, but because we do not want to force a meaning from the statement that is not really there. .
