Following the Chain
As church members continue to question their financial support of the
World Council of Churches (WCC) and it's national arm the National Council
of Churches ( NCC ) it is imperative that we look at what these
organizations are saying ,doing and who they align themselves with.
The Moravian Church supports the WCC/NCC through a designated line item
budget request that requires approval from each congregation at their
annual Church Council meetings. This token amount supplements the
funding of international travel of Moravian leaders like PEC president Bob
Sawyer ( WCC central committee member ) and others to places like Geneva,
Switzerland among other locations.
The WCC claims close allegiance to the UN, even claiming that it was
instrumental in organizational efforts to form the UN in the late 30's.
Please review postings and links from the WCC web site that
clearly show the continued alliance with the UN and support of it's work.

WCC role in international affairs
The following link is given to draw your attention to the Oil-for-Food
Scandal that is making the news today. There are already those
mounting a defense for U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan, who is
increasingly under fire for his and his son's alleged role in the
Oil-for-Food scandal.
We should watch closely to see how this develops and to see how the
WCC/NCC responds - if they respond.
