Re: Delegate Training Cluster Meetings in November

Dear Delegates and Alternates:

Steve Wilson and I are grateful for the turn out to the first two of five training opportunities being held in August and September (Winston-Salem and King).  There are three more to come (Raleigh Moravian - September 10; Rolling Hills - September 17; and Charlotte - Sept 10).

So far 174 delegates and alternates have participated.

The discussions have been very significant and the sense of community and direction for the Synod community is well on the way to forming.

If you have not been able to make one of the these first two meetings and you live in the Winston-Salem area please contact Lynn Kale (725-5811) to get information or to register to attend the meeting at Charlotte or Raleigh.

Attending both rounds of training (August/September and November) is an expectation that the body of Synod has for each delegate and alternate.  We need 100% participation so that each delegate and alternate understands and is familiar with the progress of how the 2006 Synod agenda is forming.

The second round of gatherings will provide a critical opportunity for you to see how the response of the delegates to the Summary of the Synod Survey has developed.  At the meetings held in November, we will work together to further determine what the focus points of the 2006 Synod will be.  Your input is greatly needed for this.

Thanks,

Neil Routh
