| Walter A Wardlaw of Winston Salem, writes this editorial response (May 29) to the editorial submitted by Margaret Leinbach who suggested "those who presume to judge Moravians" that scripture tells us "Correct doctrine or belief will not save us. What counts for faith is not belief, but actions of loving one's neighbor as individuals made in God's image and likeness." ( This letter, provided by Walter Wardlaw, suggests that Christians must take a stand and teach Jesus as the only way but do so in a loving manner. |

The Only Way
I feel led to respond to the letter to the editor "Following Instructions" (May 21}. The scriptures given by the writer are excellent scriptures that all Christians should abide by (but many times do not). However, two other scriptures that address the question, "Are there other ways. to Heaven?" should have been added. In John 14:6 Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to the father except through me." Also, John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that he gave his only son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life." Jesus is the fulfillment of the prophecy in Isaiah 53. This letter is not meant to be critical of Moravians, the writer or other Christian denominations. I merely feel that Christians must take a stand and teach Jesus as the only way but do so in a loving manner. WALTER A. WARDLAW
