Moravian's have faced issues in both the 2002 Northern Provincial Synod as well as in the 2002 Southern Provincial Synod that reflect a desire by some for legislation that would call for acceptance of lifestyles and behaviors that are not currently viewed as acceptable by conservative bible believing Christians. Heated debate over resolution 6 in the northern province over homosexuality only punctuated the controversy several months earlier in the southern synod over resolution 54 that was not allowed because of its focus on authority of scripture and its message of salvation was seen as divisive to those who supported Rev Truman Dunn's teaching that there are many ways to salvation and that Scripture should not be viewed as the only informational source of our faith and doctrine.
