| August 1, 2004 This E-mail from the secretary
Lynn Kale, of the office of the PEC, has been sent to notify 2006
delegates of the first pre-synod meetings. |
Greetings (again!) Synod Delegates
Some of you are receiving this for the second time. I'm sorry... please
disregard this duplication. Others did not receive this message and
due to a glitch in my distribution lists I cannot determine who was
omitted so everyone is receiving the re-send. Sending e-mail to 300
people and getting corrections for those that were incorrect is quite a
job! However, the bugs will be worked out soon.
Below is the original message:
It is time to begin the preparation for Synod 2006 taking place next
April. There will be informational meetings at several locations
beginning in August. Please see the schedule below and choose the time
best-suited for you.
Your pastor is about to receive a handbook for each official and
alternate delegate from your congregation which will give you an
orientation about what to expect, how resolutions move through synod,
and how you can more effectively participate in synod. Your pastor is
also receiving a compilation of all the responses we have received from
the Delegates and Joint Board Discussions. There is one for each
delegate. The committees for synod, and subsequently the resolutions
from synod, will be determined from these responses and the responses of
those who attend the pre-synod meetings. Your input at the pre-synod
meeting will be very much appreciated.
The schedule for the first (of probably two) pre-synod meetings is
below. We hope you will be able to attend at one of the locations. (If
/when a second meeting is planned you will be notified.)
August 20, New Philadelphia, 9-12:30 PM
August 25, King, 7-9:30 PM
September 10, Raleigh, 9-12:30 PM
September 10, Little Church on the Lane, 9-12:30 PM
If you have questions concerning this notice or other things pertaining
to synod please call the PEC Office (336-725-5811) or e-mail us at
